New South

Samantha Nieves

This is Samantha's first year with New South VBC.  Samantha was a All-District Libero and All District/All Area Setter for West Creek High School.  Her Junior and Senior year she helped lead the Coyotes to back to back District Championships.  This season she will be working with the 13s team.

Erin Chancey

Erin is the New South VBC strength coach. Erin holds a Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of North Georgia and a Masters in Education with a specialization in Sport Management from the University of Georgia.  Erin is a certified strength and conditioning through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  Prior to her involvement with New South Volleyball, Erin has worked in the capacity of Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach with the University of Georgia, Ohio State University, the United States Air Force Academy and the Olympic Training Center.  The New South Volleyball staff is excited to have Erin associated with our program.

Julia Carr

Julia Carr is a freshman at Austin Peay University, completing her undergrad in Communications. She played volleyball all four years of high school at West Creek with one year of club volleyball with New South. She has played outside hitter, setter, and every position in the back row. Her senior year she played libero for West Creek and was an all district player. This will be Julia's first year with New South VBC. 


​Michael Busse​​

Michael Busse has been playing Volleyball for 5 years. Also, a sand volleyball player. He loves the strategy and competitiveness of volleyball. This is his second year coaching with New South VC and worked with the 15s last year. This year he will be working with the 16s and looks forward to a hard-working and fun season. 

Ginny Gerig

Ginny Gerig has been playing volleyball for ten years. As a setter she helped her Normal Community High School reach back-to-back (2014-15) Illinois High School Association Class 4A Final Fours. Ginny was named Honorable Mention All-State and earned Second Team All-District honor.  As a junior, she earned Honorable Mention All-District recognition and was a Pantagraph All-Area first-team selection. Ginny played club volleyball for Illini Elite Volleyball Club.  Her club team placed 2nd in the Nation while playing in the Open Division her Junior year of high school. Ginny currently plays Libero for Austin Peay State University!  This will be Ginnys first year with New South VBC. 

Deborah wilson, Social Media manager

​Deborah Wilson is an alumna from Middle Tennessee State University with her Bachelors in Organizational Communication. She attended  West Creek High School all four years. She is originally from Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish and Social Media. This will be Deborah's third year with New South VBC .

Meet our coaches- The building blocks of vbc


​​JOSH STOECKL, Executive Director 

Josh Stoeckl is the head coach for the West Creek Volleyball Team.  Prior to serving as head coach at West Creek, Josh held the job of Assistant Coach at Pine Forest High from 2002-2004 and head coach at Pine Forest from 2005-2008.  The Pine Forest volleyball team made the playoffs 2 times under the coaching of Coach Stoeckl.  In 2009, Josh moved to Clarksville to open up West Creek High School.  He was given a coach’s dream, the ability to start and create a program from the ground up.  Under his tutelage, the West Creek Volleyball program has gone from 0 wins in his first season to a record of 31-14 in and a regional playoff berth by the fifth season.  Coach Stoeckl coached West Creek to back to back district titles (2104 & 2015) and back to back to back (2013-2015)regional appearances.  Josh is originally from Cattaraugus, NY.  He holds 3 college degrees, an AS in Communications, a BA in History with a minor in Political Science and Education Certificate from Geneseo State University and an M ED from Grand Canyon University in Education Administration.  Coach Stoeckl aspires someday to become an Athletic Director of High School or small college.  Additionally, Josh serves as the Head Track Coach at West Creek; training over 40 state qualifiers and multiple state champions over 7 years.  Coach Stoeckl currently resides in Clarksville with his puggle Izzy Belle. 


Chandler wellman, Director of Volleyball Operations

Chandler Wellman is a native of Brenham, Texas and had coached volleyball for eight years in both Texas and Tennessee. Chandler is a Graduate Assistant Coach for the volleyball program at Austin Peay State University.  The 2017 Govs finished overall 30-6 (14-2 OVC) and won the Ohio State Valley Conference Championship. In addition to serving as a Graduate Assistant, Chandler is also earning his Master's degree in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Coaching. Prior to Austin Peay, Chandler received his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management at King University in Bristol, TN. While at King, Chandler competed for the NCAA Division I-II men's volleyball program for four years as a libero. During the 2016-17 season, the Tornado clinched a share of the Conference Carolin's regular season title. In addition to competing with the men's program, Chandler served as a student assistant for the women's program at King University for two years during his four year tenure.  Additionally, Chandler has served on staff for numerous volleyball camps one of which includes Texas A&M University volleyball camp, for the past three years. This will be Chandler's first year with New South VBC. 



  






Sabrina nieves, Spring League director

Sabrina graduated from Austin Peay with a degree in Math and Statistics in May and is working on her Master’s in Finance. She is currently working in Nashville as an analyst, and this will be her third year with New South. She played volleyball all four years of high school and was captain her senior year when West Creek qualified for Regionals for the first time. She coached the West Creek JV team for 3 seasons under Coach Josh and has coached the 15’s and 17’s teams during her time with New South. Last year, her 17’s team won the silver bracket at the Nash Vegas tournament and she’s looking to carry that same momentum into this season! She is excited to see some familiar faces this season and coach new ones as well! 

Chloe Stitt

Chloe helped lead Delta High School coached by Heidi Zickgraf to sectional championship match as a senior.  Chloe was named first-team All-State as a junior and senior. Chloe played for Munciana Volleyball with Coach Pancho Alvarez. She had been playing volleyball for 7 years. She was named First Team All State and All-Conference my Jr. and Sr. year at Delta High School.  She is currently a sophomore at Austin Peay and plays on the Indoor Volleyball team as an outside hitter and plays on the beach volleyball team too. This will be her second year at New South and she will be coaching the 15s this year.
